Miami Bone-fishing In The Spring|Great Bonefish Action In Miami FLorida

IMG_1399
It’s that time of year again where we have longer days, the water temperatures are getting back to normal, and there are lots of fish around in Miami’s Biscayne Bay.

March is one of my favorite months to fish. The tarpon are holding off the beach, inlets, and protected basins off the north end of Biscayne Bay as well as permit staging and moving around the flats getting ready for there offshore spawn.

But one of my favorite fish to target in March is Bonefish. This is when the water temperatures stay consistent around the mid 70’s to low 80’s and the bonefish love these water temperatures.

I have been seeing fish on both stages of the tides throughout the day, but as always one time is always better then the other. Some days have been off the charts with lots of fish around and others not so many.

That’s how it is when it comes to bone fishing. I always mention to my customers, if your serious about catching a bonefish or several bonefish, you need to put the time in especially if you have never bone-fished or site fished before.

Practice makes perfect. Practicing your casting whether you’re a fly fisherman or spin fisherman, being ready is always going to be in your favor. This will definitely increase you odds at catching a bonefish. This goes the same for permit fishing.

Small shrimp patterns flies have been the ticket with medium to small lead eyes, depending on the water depth. While spin fishing a well placed live shrimp with do it every time.

I’ve been on the water everyday this month, but I have a few opening left in March and I still have some availability in April, May, and June.

Available Days In March: 25,28,29,30 and 31.

Give me a call if you’re up for the challenge at chasing some world-class bonefish.
