Miami Inshore Fishing Report|Catching Big Grouper In Shallow Water

Fall has arrived and the bait run is in full swing. The water temperatures start to cool off and the inshore channel and wreck fishing starts to come alive.

Now is a great time to target mutton snapper, big mangroves and Gag grouper. This kind of fishing is a great alternative to catch nice quality fish on light tackle and have steady action through out the day in Miami’s Biscayne Bay.

The big sea trout are also biting on the northern end of Biscayne Bay, and we are catching them on artificial baits as well as live bait.

There are also times where we can chum up the grouper close to the boat and catch them on fly. For those of you who fly fish, it’s a blast on a 10 WT fly rod.

The permit and bone fishing continues to be world class. The fall is one of the best times to catch trophy fish.
