Biscayne Bay Fishing Guide Fishing Report

July has been a great month not only for business, but also for the fishing. I’ve been fishing from Biscayne Bay to Islamorada in the Florida Keys as well as Flamingo Everglades National Park.

The permit fishing in Biscayne Bay has been great. Some days have been better then others as far as how many shots your going to get, but overall it has been consistent. You can bet when you do get one, it’s going to be a trophy size fish.

The small baitfish are just starting to show up as well as the smaller juvenile tarpon. Getting up bright and early is the key to getting on the tarpon when they are the most active. This time of year I like to start fro 5:30-6:30 am and be off the water by 1:00 or 2:00. This of course will also depend on what going on with the tides, but getting out early in the summer is the key.

The summer time fishing is hot right now; give me a call if you’re making your way to South Florida.
