Miami Florida Fishing Report: Biscayne Bay And Flamingo Fishing

The past two weeks I’ve been fishing Biscayne Bay and Flamingo (Everglades National Park).

The last week of November had great bonefishing in Miami, Biscayne Bay. There wasn’t a day that we were not catching several bonefish in a day. Most of the fish were in deeper water due to the cold fronts that have been pushing through, but this was a good thing. In a week we released 25 bonefish and lost several more to break offs. The highlight of the week was four year old Nicky Cruz catching 6 bonefish. The only four years old I know that has caught that many bonefish in one day.

The first week of December conditions changed and we had to adjust to the weather. We had a cold from moving through and it brought lots of wind and some rain with it.

Monday I had a half day trip out of Biscayne Bay, but the trip was set short due to one of the anglers not feeling so well so we didn’t get much fishing in.

Wednesday I was fishing Armond Schwartz from Texas and our game plan was to catch a bonefish on fly. Unfortunately the wind blew 20 to 25 and gusting to 30 mph with overcast skies. Not the best conditions, but we stuck it out anyways, but very few fish around.

Thursday and Friday I had Dan Bukaty from California and our original plan was to fish Biscayne Bay, but conditions were still tough so we decided to change plans and fish Flamingo for some snook and redfish. The conditions were still a little tough, but we managed to catch a mixed bag of snook, tarpon, trout, and snapper.

Saturday I had Laden and Jaron from California and we headed to Flamingo for snook and redfish and whatever else was biting. Saturday was almost just as bad as Wednesday, but the fishing was great. We caught fish all day and started off the day with a big snook that broke us off. We hooked several tarpon in the morning and caught snook, redfish, trout, flounder, snapper throughout the whole day. For some reason allot of the big fish kept breaking us off that day, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

The forecast for the week looks great with light winds and sunny skies. The fishing is expected to be really good. Don’t for get I still have a holiday special going on until the end of the year. Book two day’s in a row and pay only half day price for each day. This offer doesn’t apply if you have previously book a trip before this special.
